Brandon has been in the hunting industry for over 30 years with over 20 years as a professional guide. Several years ago Brandon was able to realize his dream and bought his own outfitter, so with his wife and children they own and operate BearTrack Outfitters. The first thing you will notice at our camp is the love we have for hunting and the great outdoors. We take pride in running a professional camp and giving our guests the best experience possible. BearTrack has earned the reputation as the top destination when it comes to hunting big game in Manitoba. From the great accommodations, top notch meals, the knowledgeable guides to the exceptional hunting, BearTrack stands alone.
BearTrack operates in Manitoba’s famous Inter-lake region which boasts some of the largest bears in North America due to the environment and low hunting pressure. In our area there are no other hunters which means the bears up here have most likely never been hunted until you are in the stand. You can expect to see several bears during your sit in one of our comfortable stands. Even after you harvest your bear there is always something to do at camp. There is exceptional walleye fishing right close to camp, or you can just relax by the lake. One thing is for certain, when you hunt at BearTrack it will be an experience you won't forget!

To date, we’ve done all three. We are fortunate in that what we love to do most in this world, we get to do almost every day and we get to share it with some of the most incredible people that join us each year at camp.
Frequently Asked Questions
You’re welcome to hunt with a bow, rifle, muzzle loader, or crossbow. If you are bringing rifle we suggest that you use nothing smaller than a .270. We have a pretty even split between bow hunters and rifle hunters. We accommodate both. The average shot at our bait sites is 20 yards.

Email or give us a call, with your preferred date and we’ll fit you in, without overbooking the camp. A $500 deposit guarantees your date and spot for the upcoming season. We have a payment schedule that our guests find helpful in their budgets.
Although our camp can handle up to 12 guests per week, we like to have no more than 8 hunters at a time so we can provide a more personal service.
In our 1,400 square miles of allocated area, we can have up to 50 guests per year. Remember, there are no other outfitters in this part of Manitoba, and no resident bear hunters. Our bears see little to no hunting pressure in their lifetime.
Generally a current passport and your firearm paperwork allows you smooth entry into Canada. Please call if you may have any old, past DUI or criminal issues.

Absolutely! We at BearTrack believe that hunting is a great pass time that should be shared. A non-hunter is $250/day. While there are things to do at camp, you are welcome to accompany your partners to observe or video the hunt, as that adds more to the guide, if you wish to do that it is $300/day. It is something we are more than willing to do so you can enjoy the hunt together.
You are welcome to still accompany your guide on their bait runs. We are also located right on a lake, so included in the price of your bear hunt we will give you a boat and tackle so you can spend the rest of the week on the water.
Yes, we can accommodate all allergy or dietary concerns. Kara is well-versed in dietary needs and nutrition and can accommodate whatever they may be.
From a month before you get to camp and right through the season, we run a line of 42 active bait sites, and visit them every day to every second day.
Generally not. Rarely will we hunt a bait site 2 days in a row. The only time we’ll do this is if we have a trophy size bear visiting that site. If we don’t take him within 2 days, we’ll assume he’s moved on and we’ll choose another of the many sites we have for you to hunt.
There is 5 days of hunting. You will arrive in camp Sunday afternoon, and your departure day is the following Saturday. By Thursday of most weeks, our guests have seen enough bears and have taken one, giving them the last day to relax around or video on their last day.
You will fly to Winnipeg Sunday and we’ll pick you up. We will also drop you off at the end of your stay. Transport to and from the airport is included in the price of your hunt.
For those who are driving, you will cross the border at the Pembina-Emerson crossing (I-29). Once in Canada take Hwy 75 to Winnipeg. You will then take Perimiter West all the way until you turn North onto hwy 6. Follow hwy 6 north until you come to the St.Martin junction. At that junction you will turn east onto the 513. Follw the 513 through Gypsumville for about 15 miles and you will see the sign for our camp.
Our average size bear is 5 1/2 to 6 feet, tipping the scale at 300-325 pounds. Of course some are bigger and some smaller. Our biggest bear to date was 8′ 3″ and though it was impossible to accurately weigh him, we say easily 500+ pounds plus which is not bad for a spring bear.
